New Camera

Bryan and I always thought that good photographers were just that. Good. Which they are. But today we found out that having a good camera helps a little too. We were using a Sony Cybershot which was fine but we had definitely outgrown it, which anyone over the age of 12 is likely to do. So, with a trip to the Olympics coming up and a new baby on the way...holy cow....we decided it was time to upgrade. And upgrade we did. Not knowing anything about our new Canon XS SLR we played in the backyard and the kitchen and got some fun shots.

They are of the animals again, because that's the most exciting thing around here....for now.

I love, love, love this one.

Lily was not impressed. It's looks like these that make people not like cats.

Claire had been dining in the snow. You've got a little somthin' on your face, girl.

Claire turned into a fox for a very short time. Our new camera can take 3 frames per second.

Awwww. Good thing she can look like this. It almost makes me forget about how she digs in the backyard and tracks mud through a freshly vaccuumed house.

This is more like her. She loves to run.

More pictures are sure to come!

Not So Good At This

I am not good at being pregnant.

I guess I have a lot to be thankful for because I have felt great for nearly all of my life. That's such a blessing. So, because I am a worrier and pregnancy does weird things to your body, I am a mess. There are just too many new "feelings" that I notice. Again, I am thankful that I am able to carry this baby, but I also am excited to get my body back! The crazy thing is that there is still so much to discover about this process!

February 9th is quickly approaching! It should be a fun day!

The Animals

Claire and Lily in their favorite places.

Best toy ever. Indestructable.

Lily's new basket bed.

Sweet girl.

Whoa!
I can't believe this worked. My parents' labs sleep in kennels too and I got them all to go in there at once. All three were pretty confused.

Lily loves boxes

and Snuggies.

But she doesn't like the light in her eyes.
Can you see her covering her eyes?

We're all just hanging out and waiting for another creature to join us!

The Big Day

I had another appointment today and it was a quick one. In and out. I met with Dr. Olsen this time who seems really nice and matter of fact. I haven't gained ANY weight which he assured me was okay and he promised I would gain plenty later. :)

He did the pelvis to belly button measurement which he didn't share, probably because it is the same as pre-pregnancy. The nurse found the heartbeat, we listened to it for a few seconds, and then the visit was done. Just like that. Oh, and I had to decline lots of genetic testing again. We didn't see the point since the 20 week ultrasound usually picks up any defects and we wouldn't do anything differently anyway.

The big day is Tuesday, February 9th. I go in again at 3:00 for an ultrasound and another appointment. Hopefully the baby will cooperate and we will be able to tell if we should be thinking pink or blue. I will definitely post it here when I find out!

A Cincinnati Christmas

After our trip to Florida, Bryan worked for three days in Chicago and on Christmas Eve we headed to Cincinnati with Claire in tow. Christmas was so laid back and relaxing. Bryan bought tickets for Dick and him to go to the Bengals/Broncos game. Luckily Bryan packed a lot of extra warm clothes because it was a COLD game.

Bryan and I tried to help Dick and Sharon clear our the basement by bringing home the ping pong table. Unfortunately, after a poorly installed trailer hitch that had us stranded on our way home from Cincinnati, the ping pong table ended up back it their garage. Maybe next time.

This was supposed to be our Christmas picture. We wanted to wait until we could send something out about our new baby, but, as these things work, we still haven't done it. Oops.

New Year's Eve was a heavenly night because I got to hold this sweet baby again. This is Steven, Lee and Lea's baby. He is six weeks old and absolutely amazing!

Just look at that sweetness. Before he had a name he was called Quad Baybeh.

Bryan was enjoying a night with friends as well.

The trip was very relaxing until the trip home. Along with the transportation fun, there was another shocking realization. Bryan didn't work all week and we were sleeping about 10 hours each night. Bryan pointed out the fact that we probably wouldn't sleep that much again for the next 15 years! Scary!
